Today, with both dental office being closed, I joined Rebekah Leone's at home nursing route. It was very similar to last Friday because most of the were the same patients. The first patient needed to be evaluated with blood pressure, breathing, and other normal procedure. The next patient needed blood work, so after when we went through the evaluation and then took the blood. Once the blood was taken it was put into a cooler and brought right to the lab to be given to them so they can evaluate it. Once that was over, we went to the next patient to do some wound care to him. He had diabetes making it hard to get circulation to the legs, causing the loss of one leg and multiple wounds and no toes on the other. Rebekah removed the old bandage, cleaned out the wounds, and re-bandaged them. Lastly, two patients needed a simple check up and have their medication set up in their planner for the week. With my last Friday, I worked 8-4 with no lunch, for a total of 8 hours!
