Day 4; Thursday. 5/4/17

Today started by waking up and going to work for 8 o'clock again. The first patient came in needing three fillings on his upper left teeth. The second patient came in because she was getting married on Saturday and wanted to get new fillings on her front two teeth to match her other teeth and make them look a little whiter. Her teeth were very sensitive to the cold water coming off the drill, so we numbed the area. The next patient came in with a loose crown, Dr. Bryan decided to remove the crown and then clean the crown and the tooth. When the crown was getting cleaned and the the tooth was done, we took X-rays to see what type of pin should be entered into the tooth, to make the crown stay more durable and sturdy. The next appointment came in to talk about her sleep apnea, because she currently uses a device to help her sleep, but she came in to see if she could use a pill to help instead. Dr. Bryan determined with the severity of her sleep apnea, it was too risky to switch because she could possibly die with her heart conditions. The second to last patient came in the get some bondings in the spaces of the lower teeth in the front. Lastly, our final patient came in to get teeth impressions, they used polyvinly which means they are more permanent and don't change over time, Which is different compared to algenate, that is made from seaweed and is water base so they aren't permanent, they become smaller over time and dentist only use them for quick procedures to look at where the teeth are placed. The office usually closes at 2:30, but when doing the implants the fake tooth came out with the impressions so we had to stay longer to put the bridge back in, which is where three teeth are combined to make one implant. Working 8-3 with no lunch because it was such a packed day and her office was closed Monday and Tuesday, I worked 7 hours today!
